She Entrepreneurs – Connecting impact driven female founders

Are you an entrepreneur contributing to sustainable solutions for the climate? Do you want to take the next steps to grow your business? Join our transformative leadership programme She Entrepreneurs, and become part of a strong network of impact-driven female founders in the Middle East and North Africa.

She Entrepreneurs 2025 is a leadership programme for highly motivated women entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa who are building scalable businesses that contribute to sustainable solutions for the climate in areas such as, water, energy, food production, the circular economy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and transportation. Over the years, as the programme has been running, many entrepreneurs have received support that has helped them successfully expand and increase their impact.

She Entrepreneurs offers practical, hands-on leadership training based on real business experience, collaborative learning, and participant-centric approach. The programme equip participants with tangible tools, insights and connections for participants who want to grow their business and develop as both entrepreneurs and leaders.

Running over the course of six months, the programme combines regular online workshops and online mentoring with one week of intensive, onsite learning in Stockholm in September.

She Entrepreneurs will give you:

She Entrepreneurs is arranged by the Swedish Institute, a public agency that builds interest and trust in Sweden around the world. The Swedish Institute work with Sweden promotion, cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and global development. (Link to Swedish Institute website)

Can I apply?

You are welcome to submit your application if you are a woman entrepreneur with a business that

  • is already operational and ready to expand.
  • has the potential to develop a financially sustainable business model and contributes to sustainable solutions for the climate in areas such as water, energy, food production, the circular economy, manufacturing, infrastructure and transportation.
  • is based in Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, or Tunisia.

Programme participants must be citizens of one of the countries mentioned above and have a proficient command of both written and spoken English.

Programme Timeline

She Entrepreneurs runs for about six months and combines regular online workshops, learning groups, tailor made coaching and mentoring with one week of intensive, onsite learning in Stockholm in September. You should plan to dedicate around five hours per week to the programme.

Online training and mentorship (end of April – end of October 2025)
The training is based on a highly practical approach that allows you to apply the knowledge and insight gained through it directly to your business. Regular online workshops are organised on different topics that help you grow your turnover and operations, build a resilient leadership and team, and follow up on the targets you set for business’ impact. The workshops are led by experienced entrepreneurs and experts. Joint workshops and smaller learning groups give plenty of opportunities to meet other entrepreneurs in similar situations and to make new connections. Throughout the programme, you will also have access to coaching and mentorship based on your various needs.

Onsite learning week in Stockholm (September 2025)
The programme in Stockholm will take place between 22 and 28 September (arriving on 22 September and departing on 28 September). It will be an intensive week of learning, combining workshops, mentoring, field visits and networking.

An exact schedule will be sent at the beginning of the programme.

Costs covered and arranged by Swedish Institute

  • Your flights to and from Stockholm.  
  • Your accommodation and most of the meals in Stockholm during the programme’s onsite learning week in Stockholm, Sweden.
  • Your insurance during the programme’s onsite learning week in Stockholm, Sweden.
  • All training online and onsite material.

How to apply

The application period is 6 February – 6 March 2025

Only applicants who have submitted a complete application will be considered for the programme. These are the steps you need to go through to submit your application
  1. Register your profile in the application portal.
  2. Select what programme you would like to apply for (She Entrepreneurs is available 6 February – 6 March 2024).
  3. Answer all the questions for the different sections in the application portal (found in the left-hand menu).
  4. Upload your CV under the document section.
  5. After you’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive a confirmation to your inbox in Dream Apply.
  6. You will also receive a message to your inbox in Dream Apply with a link to record a short video. Follow the instructions in the message. It will take less than ten minutes to record the video. You will get two questions to answer within two minutes each. We ask you to make the recording in a quiet setting and, if possible, use headphones with a built-in microphone. Please note that it is mandatory to make the video recording. We wish you the best of luck!

Evaluation of applications (7 March – 14 April)

The Swedish Institute appoints a selection committee consisting of senior entrepreneurs and field experts. Each application is evaluated by two different members of the selection committee.

Each application is evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Business potential.
  • Potential of the applicant’s business to contribute to sustainable climate solutions (in areas such as, water, energy, food production, the circular economy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and transportation).
  • The potential of the applicant as an entrepreneur.

Interviews (31 March – 9 April)

Out of all applicants, around 50 shortlisted candidates are called for interviews as a second step in the selection process. The interviews are conducted online.

Admission (15 April)

SI will contact the 30 selected applicants by email to offer them a place in the programme. SI will also compose a list of reserve candidates in case a second selection round is needed. Unfortunately, because of the large number of applications for a limited number of spots, we have to turn down many highly qualified candidates who apply to the programme.
